 Chandpur Garhi
Chandpur Garhi is situated on Adibadri Karnprayag road in Chamoli district at a distance of 2 km from the city. Chandpur Garhi is situated on a small circular hill.
There is a stronghold left in this Garhwal, which is called the country of 52 strongholds, which is called Chandpur Garh, it is believed to be of the 9th century.
I am writing here the information I have received from the antiquity and historical archaeological evidence and records of Chandpur Garh Uttarakhand state.
It is believed that a powerful king Kanak Pal reached Garhwal from Malwa in Samvat 755 to 699 AD, who established his supremacy over the entire Garhwal region and proved himself to be the successor of King Sonpal by making Chandpur Garh the capital.
It is now a common belief among scholars that Kanak Pal was the founder of the Pawar dynasty in Garhwal.
It is believed that King Sonpal of Bhilang kingdom ruled in Chandpur fort, Raja Sonpal married his only daughter and only heir to Kanak Pal, who came from Malwa.
In the Pawar dynasty, the names of the last king Ajay Pal come from King Kanak Pal, but there is a lack of historical details in this regard. Ajay Pal was the ruler of the Pawar dynasty. Ajay Pal was the first ruler of the Pal dynasty.
The last king of Chandpur, Ajay Pal, shifted his capital to Devalgarh in present-day Srinagar Garhwal in Samvat 1415 {1358 AD 0} and probably since then Chandpur Garh gone gone gone
Located on the top of the Prasad hill, the fort's ramparts are surrounded by habitable planets, which are built from older chiseled, stronger stone blocks.
It is said that an underground passage was dug from the fort towards the valley below which provided water there whose mouth is visible near the river but no sign of this is found in the offerings.
In the year 2000 and 2007, excavations were done by the Dehradun Division of the Archaeological Survey of India, in which apart from residential buildings, iron-made weapons, copper utensils, earthenware came to light in other remains.
